Infant Jesus Parish in Ashiana Gets New Community Hall
The Infant Jesus Church in Ashiana, in the LDA Colonies, was gifted with a new Parish Hall when the Bishop of Lucknow, Most Rev. Gerald J. Mathias blessed the newly built Parish Hall on 26 March 2017 at the end of the Holy Eucharist, which was concelebrated by the neighbouring priests, in which many Sisters and all the Parishioners participated. The Ashiana Parish was established in 1996 without, however, a Church or a Hall. The Holy Mass was celebrated in the Chapel of the FSLG Sisters at Stella Maris School Campus. Gradually a piece of land was purchased and a Church was built in 2002 together with a Parish House. A small Grotto of Our Blessed Mother was built in 2006. The Parish increased in numbers accounting for, currently, about 400 members.
Having felt the need for a Parish Hall, the Bishop of Lucknow arranged for it to be built above the Parish House since its Foundation was strong enough to sustain another floor. Under the overall supervision of Vicar General Fr. Ronald D‘Souza and the dedicated local supervision by the Parish Priest Fr. Robert Pinto, a strong and beautiful Hall was built, whose completion took about an year and was finally blessed and inaugurated on 26 March 2017 to the great joy and happiness of the Parish Community. The Blessing ceremony ended with a simple but tasty vegeterian lunch served to all the Parishioners and the invited guests.
