Unnao Parish and School Welcome New Sisters Community
St. Lawrence Parish and School in Unnao Mission, lying about 60 kilometers from Lucknow City, welcomed a new Religious Community to help in the School and Parish when four Sisters from the Congregation of Jesus (CJ) started their ministry with the Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Gerald Mathias of Lucknow and concelebrated by several priests of the Diocese. The others present at the inaugural Mass and Blessing were Provincial Superior Sr. Roshni, many CJ Sisters and local friends and well wishers. The Parish Priest Fr. Louis DíSa and Principal Fr. Lancy Rego left no stone unturned to prepare the ceremonies of the Holy Mass and the Blessing of the renovated Convent, where the Sisters would be living. The Convent at Unnao was manned for several years by the Sisters of St. Joseph and St. Mark (SJSM), based at Indore but who decided to shift their ministry to elsewhere in North India. The whole function ended with a sumptuous meal served to all who came to take part in the event.
