U. P. Governor Ram Naik Attends Diocesan Christmas 2018 Function
There was a grand 'Christmas Get Together' on 26th December 2018 from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. to which the Religious Leaders, City VIPs, important Governments Officers, Parish Priests, Principals of Schools and friends of the diocese were invited. The most important person invited was the Governor of U.P. Shri Ram Naik, who was attending the function for the 5th time consecutively, to the great joy and satisfaction of the people in the diocese. Another important person was the Dy. Chief Minister of U.P., Dr. Dinesh Sharma. Cabinet Minister Mrs. Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Minister with Independent Charge Mrs. Swati Singh also graced the occasion.
The short programme consisted of a Bible Reading and Prayer, a Welcome Speech, a Christmas Message by the Bishop, a Dance by the students of St. Francis School for Speech and Hearing impaired as well a Dance by the Students of the Fatima Hospital Nursing School. There were, besides, Christmas Carols by the Cathedral Choir as well Carols sung in unison by the entire audience to the great delight and enthusiasm of everyone! The Governor in his speech spoke glowingly of the contribution of the Christian Community in the field of Education and Health Care and his own association and work for the Leprosy-affected persons. The function over, the Governor visited the Crib in the Cathedral Campus and had a piece of the Christmas Cake and a cup of Tea with the Bishop and other selected dignitaries! At the end of the function all the invited guests and VIPs were served refreshments in the Cathedral School Premises.
